Construction Labourer

Status: Part Time - Minimum 20 hrs/week
Location: Edmonton Area
Wage: $15-20/hr
Relevant Work Experience: 1 year minimum experience in site cleanup/maintenance work. Inclusive of outdoor seasonal maintenance, use of lawn/yard equipment and use of standard power and manual tools
Reports To: Eden Montgomery - Vice President, Residential Developments

Job Summary

The Construction Labourer is responsible for executing tasks outlined by the direct supervisor or manager on a daily basis. Daily activities begin with a morning briefing of the day’s tasks, activities, priorities and requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Seasonal maintenance: grass cutting, weed control, watering, raking leaves, snow/ice removal etc.

  • General cleaning/maintenance of properties: interior and exterior

  • Addition cleaning/maintaining duties of properties during sales process period

  • Site lockup and security checks

  • Preparatory tasks for possession and turnover

  • Organizing and tracking inventory both on and off site: materials, tools and equipment

  • Service coordination and providing access for other vendors/contractors

  • Getting rid of garbage and disposing of materials no longer needed

  • Simple installations and carpentry

  • Completing site checklists for inspections

  • Moving, hauling, loading and unloading of materials.

  • Monitoring and reporting activities on site

  • Daily tracking of time and vehicle log

  • Collecting and submitting slips/receipts from site activity

  • Managing keys in office and off site including lockboxes

  • Basic technology skills: 

    • Email, calendars, SMS, Google Hangouts 

    • Comfortable with a smartphone and tablet on site 

    • Google Suite for logs and site reports


  • High School Graduate, GED or Higher

  • Owned Vehicle to ensure reliable transportation to get to job sites as needed (company vehicle available for hauling heavy equipment/materials)

  • Valid driver’s license with current insurance and clean record 

  • Own a Cell Phone

  • Insurable for the purposes of WCB clearance and liability insurance

  • No criminal record

  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work as evidenced by a citizenship card, permanent resident card, landed immigrant status letter and/or ID
